Hello everyone! I can't believe it is the end of another year already. It seems the older I get the faster they go, and the less time there is to do anything. They say that time moves faster when you are busy, so maybe we should take a lesson from the turtle and do little, move slowly and live long. Anyhow, the holiday season is once again upon us and the Council and I wish you the best now and in the coming year. Let's make it a good one.
Bret Grossnickle
UNION BRIDGE RESIDENT DEPUTY
Hello, citizens of The Town of Union Bridge! For those
of you planning on vacationing over the fall and winter holidays please reduce
your chances of becoming a victim of burglary by taking the following steps.
1. Contact the Sheriff's department or myself and advise of your departure and
return dates, as well as vehicles which may be on your property. This will make
us aware and extra patrol checks can be conducted on your property.
2. Leave contact information with a friend or neighbor, who will also check
on your house and can contact you if a problem arises.
3. Use timers on interior lights, to make your house appear as if it is occupied.
4. Have your mail and paper delivery placed on hold, or have a trusted person
retrieve your mail and paper.
5. And remember to secure all doors and windows.
I WISH EACH OF YOU A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!

CARROLL COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
On November 1, 2005, at the direction of Sheriff Ken Tregoning, the Carroll
County Sheriff's Office initiated a policy of notifying parents or guardians
of juveniles cited for violations of the Maryland Transportation Law.
It is the goal of the deputies of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office and Sheriff
Tregoning to reduce senseless tragedies by education, enforcement and intervention
by parents or guardians. It is hoped that parents and guardians will read the
notification letter and take suitable actions that will keep their child and
their future alive.
NOISE ORDINANCE
The Carroll County sheriff's office is enforcing the county's noise ordinance.
Sound meters to check on a suspected violation are available to the public through
the sheriff's office by calling 410-386-2900.
FUNDING COMMITTEE

COMMUNITY CENTER
THE CENTER IS AVAILABLE FOR PARTIES, WEDDINGS AND REUNIONS. CALL THE TOWN HALL
TO INQUIRE ABOUT RENTING THE COMMUNITY CENTER FOR YOUR FUNCTION.
NEW METER MAID
The Town has hired a new Meter Maid. She is doing a great job for the town.
Please treat her with respect. She is just doing her job. Please remember if
you pay the meter there will be no ticket. It is not her fault if you receive
a ticket. Not wanting to put a nickel in a meter will probably cost you $5.00.
It is your choice. Business owners may want to put a notice in their windows
reminding customers to pay the meter. We realize that we have not had this kind
of coverage in a while and people are not used to being monitored so closely
but it is a fact now.
SNOW
SOME RESIDENTS ARE NOT REMOVING SNOW FROM THEIR SIDEWALKS. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT
THIS MUST BE DONE WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER SNOW OR ICE CEASES TO FALL. NOT DOING
SO CAUSES A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
THE TRAVELED PORTION OF THE SIDEWALK MUST BE CLEARD TO A WIDTH OF AT LEAST 30".
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.
