FROM THE MAYOR’S DESK
Here we are at the end of another year, with the holiday season in full swing.
No matter how much I try, I will never be ready for this time of year. I seldom
finish the things I wanted to, yet there is little time left over. We fill up
our lives with the desire to get ahead and collect things to make us feel like
all the hard work and missed time with the family was worth it. Sounds like
a Catch 22 to me. I think we all should make a New Year's resolution to spend
more time with family and friends, because in the end it's how you are remembered
by those that love you that really matters. Have a safe and happy holiday season.
Bret D. Grossnickle, Mayor
UNION BRIDGE RESIDENT DEPUTY
Having served as the Community Deputy in Union Bridge for the last 16 months,
I want to take a moment to thank all of those who have supported me in this
role. Law enforcement is rarely easy, and it is only with the help and support
of the community that we can succeed in keeping the town safe. I encourage you
to continue to be observant and contact the Carroll County Sheriff's Office
when suspicious activity occurs. Have a safe and happy holiday season.

West Carroll Rec. Council is seeking an interested volunteer to assist the Council
in locating land that could be used for playing fields. Many of our outdoor
programs have reached, or are about to reach, maximum capacity of participants.
In an effort to avoid turning children away from our programs, we are hoping
to from a Field Search Committee to work with the Community to solve this serious
problem. Anyone interested in helping, or anyone who may know of available property,
please contact Brad Rockwood, President WCRC.

RECYCLING NEWS
PAPER RECYCLING PROGRAM
This Carroll County 4-H fundraising program does not cost anything. There is
a bright green and yellow bin in the parking lot behind the Union Bridge Town
Hall. Please bring all of the paper items that you would normally discard and
throw them inside this bin. The recycling company picks up the paper and weighs
it and the Carroll County 4-H Program receives a payment based on this amount.
This recycling program is available to anyone - both residents and businesses
in The Town of Union Bridge are more than welcome to place their discarded paper
in the bin.
Thank you for your support.
