OFFICE CLOSED MEMORIAL DAY MAY 29, 2006
I want to congratulate the Union Bridge Business Association
on the success of Depot Days. It seems they had a fine turnout of interested
people and most of the venders have agreed to return next year. We look forward
to it.
The landscaping has been completed at the parking lot and really looks nice.
We are still working to have the statue cast and installed and hope this will
happen this year. Then we can say that Main Street is finally finished.
I would also ask that everyone consider the lack of rain this year and try to
conserve water. It is never a good idea to waste water, but in times like these
it becomes even more important to save. We are not faced with a water shortage
yet, but rain is needed and if it doesn't come we might be later in the year.
I can't remember it being this dry this early and because I work in the water
treatment business I tend to worry a lot about not having enough. So please
conserve if you can.
Thank you and have a wonderful summer.
