FROM THE MAYOR’S DESK

We made it through the storm.  Just one year ago on the same day we experienced a big wind storm.  I would like to thank all of the people who helped to cut trees up and open the streets.  In times like this, every bit of help is appreciated.

The town has gotten several calls over the last month concerning people running repair shops out of their homes.  These calls are complaint driven and our Zoning Administrator will investigate every complaint.  If you tick off your neighbor and you are doing something wrong, expect a call.
We are also experiencing problems with residents keeping their grass cut this year.  The town sends out letters first, one by snail mail and a second one by certified mail.  Then citations will be issued.  This process is very costly to the town.  It is your tax money paying for this.  Please help by doing your part and mow your grass.

The fire company will be doing their Heavy Rescue Class again this fall.  Cars and trucks are needed.  If you have an old car or truck sitting in your yard, please contact Chief Chad Green.  This is a great way to remove any unwanted vehicles from your yard.

The town would like to find a used one- ton dump truck.  It will be used by The Town for town projects, but not for residents to lease.   If anyone knows of a small truck for sale, please call me or Donald Wilson.

Town elections are over for the next two years.  Please get to know your elected officials, know their jobs and if you have a problem call that council person.  They cannot try and fix it if they don’t know about it.  The council does a great job with the limited funds they have to work with.

Perry L. Jones, Jr., Mayor

CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN

The four year old program meets three mornings a week and the three year olds meet twice a week. We have an excellent, experienced staff and tuition is reasonable.

Mornings include learning basics such as alphabet, counting and colors. Supervised play time both inside and outside. They enjoy having stories read to them and sharing about the world around them and doing simple art projects. Their mornings also include a healthy snack.
